Coming this Fall!
If you’ve visited the reception area in our new Allied Health Building, you know that our “learning space reflects the earning space.” The front desk, office and waiting area are just what you’d expect to find in a high quality medical clinic.
In response to high community demand, we are pleased to offer our Medical Office Assisting Program fall quarter. Now you can train for work in medical offices, clinics, hospitals, home health and other healthcare settings right here on the Olympic Peninsula. Get the technology skills you need for medical office employment, including electronic medical billing and coding, bookkeeping and accounting, and charting in patient records.
As of January 14, 2019, Margaret Griset, Program Assistant for PC’s Medical Assisting Program, had identified 15 unfilled, entry-level healthcare positions in Clallam and Jefferson counties that MOA graduates could potentially secure. Positions ranged from Centralized Scheduling Representative to Clinical Care Coordinator and Medical Team Navigator.
The MOA degree would prepare a graduate to work as an admin or customer service representative in just about any industry so this count is by no means comprehensive,” Griset said.
Payscale.com indicates that Olympic Medical Center positions such as Patient Account Representative, Medical Records Coder, and Medical Office Assistant earn anywhere from $12.71 to $16.31 hourly.
