Same degree, in half the time. For people who are juggling a career, family, or multiple commitments, spending two or more years earning a degree may not be a realistic option. For those with time to spare during the current pandemic, earning a credential more quickly may be a welcome alternative.
Now students can earn a degree in a faster, more convenient way, through Peninsula College’s affordable, accelerated, fully online associate in arts degree option.
“The response we got to our community survey indicated that people wanted more and different scheduling options for earning their AA degree,” said Vice President for Instruction, Dr. Steven Thomas. “The Accelerated AA was created from the feedback that we received.”
This fast track degree allows students to earn an associate in arts degree in just one year, save money by completing two years of college at a lower cost than a university, and receive personalized attention with low student-to-faculty ratios and regular academic advising.
Students will be able to earn a degree in as little as one year by taking six courses per quarter: each quarter they will take three 5 ½ week-long courses, followed immediately by another three 5 ½ week-long courses. Students already enrolled in Peninsula College’s traditional AA degree program have the option of switching to the accelerated option.
When completed, students can transfer to bachelors of arts degrees at Washington public four-year institutions. This option is appropriate for students in the arts, humanities and social sciences.
